After the second age of the Monarchy of Halo, Shadowsniper and a few others thought of the idea of a more peaceful clan and a more "civilized" welfare as a succeeding clan rather than MOH's failed motives. The extent and development of a more complex and striving group would be more of a performance and a more organized faction. On June 28th, 2010, the UN was bound of formation and created to start its early origins in the last months of Halo 3. With a more complex society, it made it possible to the production of new standards of clan warfare and improved uses of diplomatic ways with the uses of peace and truces. With Shadow as one leader and chosen high commands of squads, the UN seemed easy enough to succeed in the coming new world of Halo Reach.
The UN adopted significant ranking structures similar to the ranks of Rouge Army Brigade, a clan that died out in May of 2010 as well as the "militarized" clan system with real-life military-like tactics. A clan member's full armor set featured basic Mark IV body piece with a custom chosen helmet picked by the user, branded with the rank of the member and the color of white resembling "peace" with a brand of there squad on the leg and arm; particularly popular colors were red for "Alpha" and blue for "Bravo". The UN kept the squad system until the beginning stages of Halo Reach.
The Birth of an Army
The ways of the very early standard boot-camp systems gave the UN the upper-edge on recruiting and increasing the army count. The UN created one of the most formidable armies in all the early community, training its members for war and conflict. The training was essential to the early UN, and exercises were given weekly to maintain military formality. The firing of cones was considered of "good practice" for beginners, while 1 v 1 duels with a dueler proved how good and efficient a member would be in a solo situation. Team-based exercises were also in-place, to demonstrate how good you were with a team to achieve success in battle.
Soon after it's the first month of creation, the clan was put to the test in its first full-scale conflict ever in UN military history against a formidable opponent.
UN-ROH WARS
At the early days of July 2010, traitor USC soldiers revolted against the USC and held intentions against Shadowsniper and the expanding United Nations clan. The first attack and assassination occurred on Shadowsniper on July 9, 2010, which prompted the UN to make a determined effort to defeat the now unified clans of the Reapers of Hell and the Rouge Spartan Command. The UN rose to the challenge, holding up the ROH at numerous battles for almost a month winning many victories. It was not until an UN-Elite led coalition, the first-ever alliance, and coalition in UN history; that finally defeated the ROH and a few days later, the end of the RSC.
After a sudden alliance with a powerful Elite clan, the UN made use that such a powerful ally and the UN's forces working together could eradicate and finally put in end to the conflict. The ROH once more was led by Defter Reaper and faced the opposing armies led by ShadowSniper and an unknown Elite warrior. The UN and the Elites made a substantial army faced in several places on the Halo 3 map Ratsnest. The ROH was at most times, scattered and left several weak-points across the battlefield. Seeing an opportunity to crush the ROH, Shadow launched his infantry against them, along with additional help from the Elites. The victory soon brought the UN-ROH War to an end.
The August Wars
The expansion of the United Nations in August led the clan into conflict with the ODST Assault Force, a clan that was bent on disallowing peace between a newly declared independent clan that branched off from the ODST AF. The UN and the ODST AF fought for days until once realized that the independent clan could not be harmed, the conflict ended, and once more, the UN openly triumphed in its goal. Such battles between the two clans were mostly fought on large scale maps. One such battle was on Valhalla, the site of the UN's severest defeat ever. THE AUGUST WARS Battle of Valhalla
DATE August 2010 FORCES UN: 10-12 Estimated ODST AF: 6 Estimated CASUALTIES UN: Estimated around over 100 ODST AF: Estimated around over 60-70. _____________________________ After the annunciation of the UN's failed policy to keep the peace between an independent clan branched off from the ODST Assault Force, the United Nations was determined to counter the ODST in pitched battles and large-scale battlefields with out-numbering forces to overwhelm the enemy. The United Nations clan, under the command of ShadowSniper; formed a massive army set to destroy ODST in the battle to come. Soon enough, the ODST leader deployed his forces in scattered formations, taking cover behind hills and rocks; picking off UN members. Shadow sent his army across the waterfall side of Valhalla and defended various sections there. The UN was at most times, in close formation while shooting, and fought off many skirmishers about. ODST men, superior in skill and advantage, cut the UN line apart. UN members were scattered and were easy targets. The UN made a further retreat pass the river, while the ODST charged at the already struggling enemy. The ODST AF butchered about 100. It was one of the most costly days fighting in the history of UN warfare.
UN-SOR Dispute
After the Elite influenced the clan community, a clan known as the SOR (Spirits of Reach) used a keep against the United Nations. The UN for the first time to keep battle history, engaged against an enemy that was concealed in a fortress that robbed most of the advantages of battle. After the UN's siege victory against the SOR's keep, the conflict came to an end. UN-SOR CONFLICT Siege of SOR keep
DATE September 9, 2010 FORCES SOR: 5 garrisoned UN: 7 CASUALTIES SOR keep taken, all inside perished; mostly from friendly fire. Ranged around over 115 killed. UN deaths ranged on a high amount, but less than SOR deaths, number unknown. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Events after the essential sightings of keeps and forts spread throughout the early community passed down from the elites to various spartan clans; a nation known as the Spirits of Reach constructed a cheaply built fortification destined for a mass killing. The SOR had intentions to have future engagements with several elite clans, among these were also the United Nations clan. After the SOR invited UN members, a UN force led by Shadowsniper consequently laid siege to the castle by a handful of UN soldiers, a few were the UN's best units. The defense was at most, indigent and poorly defend at numerous weaknesses, due to the early period of siege warfare. The UN soldiers fought there way under a small hail of gunfire; killing a great portion of troops on the wall. This led to the enemy at the spawn, where it came to a point of hand-to-hand combat. The UN managed to get over the walls and into the building, securing it and using it on the past users. The victory that followed was the last battle of the UN that took place on Halo 3. The SOR will have another chance of engagement against the UN on Reach.
