The Hall of Heroes commemorates those who made a substantial contribution to the United Nations. Entry is decided by the Legacy Committee.
ShadowSniper172
ShadowSniper172 is the original founder of the United Nations clan and the individual responsible for leading its prestigious first generation. The first generation began on Halo 3 and remained on there for considerable time until migrating to Halo Reach where it saw a major boom in its population which was not seen again until the later fourth generation. Under the aegis of the UN, ShadowSniper molded the Halo Clan Community into what some would call a golden age by perpetuating the formation of many other prominent clans through armed conflict and political discourse. Many individuals in these clans would go on to start their own clans years later and grow the Community to a scope so large that it encompasses thousands of players. During his tenure in the UN, ShadowSniper spent most of his time leading the Army branch and ensuring that it functioned as an elite force that matched any other military present at the time. He was well known for being a leader who led from the front and always searched fervently for the next foe to fight. When the UN was still on Halo 3, ShadowSniper led the Army’s Alpha Squad until the “Squad System” was phased out on Halo Reach and new branches including the UN Air Force, UN Army Rangers, and UN National Guard were founded to allow members to specialize and have more varied experiences in the clan. The first generation of the UN finally ended after more than a year when ShadowSniper decided to leave and passed leadership of the clan to General JB172. ShadowSniper would never return to the UN again as an official member, but instead went on to join and lead other clans with the occasional visit to UN members seeking his wisdom.
General JB172
General JB172 led the United Nations clan during its second, third and fourth generations. In the first generation of the UN, he was responsible for leading the UN’s Navy branch (referred to as the UNNC or UN Naval Command) after it replaced its predecessor, the UNAF (or UN Air Force). JB was also a pioneer of clan media through his founding of the United Nations News (UNN) which acted as the clan’s media department producing videos to increase recruitment and bring a sense of culture to the UN. After the departure of ShadowSniper172 at the end of the first generation, the UN suffered an abysmal loss of members which saw its once glorious legions reduced to mere roaming war bands. In this dark time, it was JB who brought the UN back to a stable state with his ambitious Project Rebuild which restored the UN’s status as a power of the Halo Clan Community. However, the UN would never again reach the heights of influence it once had due to the Community growing too large for all clans to remain connected in a feasible manner and a lack of advanced communication technology similar to the modern-day Discord. Unlike his predecessor, JB found the battlefield of politics to be a more fitting place for his talents which led to greater autonomy being afforded to his officers out in the field. In an effort to make the clan run in a more efficient and fair manner, a democratic government was formed in place of the first generation’s autocratic leadership. The UN Council was a key addition in this governmental restructuring. Now, every branch and department of the UN had equivalent representation in the clan’s decisions with members both low and high being able to voice their opinions through Council meetings. The UN’s growth would continue unimpeded until internal strife occurred a while later as a result of the UN-Unicom war leading to demands for a greater number of checks and balances on JB through the creation of the Vice Presidency (proposed by UN xPREDATORx who was the first to be appointed to the new position). The catalyst of this social change was the military disaster which occurred during a tank battle where the UN won against Unicom while fielding forces far greater in number and equipped secretly with mods that had not been agreed upon by both sides. Such a disgraceful ruse shook the faith of many UN members in the clan’s current leadership. Following the aftermath, JB would continue to lead the UN for a considerable amount of time until leaving it in the care of UndefiedThunder and UN TriadicBush near the end of the third generation. JB’s last days as leader were characterized by prophecies of apocalyptic proportions where he often cited that the UN’s fall would lead to a dramatic loss in progress among the Clan Community and prepared his most loyal members for the coming storm.
Vash of Reach
Vash of Reach originally joined the UN in its 1st generation, under the gamertag of Hawx906. He served as an Army Pilot until the creation of the UN Airforce, in which he stayed until his execution and removal from the clan. During this initial stint in the clan, he served as the UN's Chief Drill Instructor and took part in the TNG and GGC wars. After spending time in the UN's Central Intelligence branch, the UNCI, Vash would experience on two occasions when upcoming UN officers would attempt to have him removed from command, or demoted. The first, Vash was then executed by S172 and removed from the UN for espionage. The execution was private, a surprise, only for Vash to rejoin the clan, after providing insurmountable evidence of his innocence. He retained his command and rank of Sergeant Major of the UN Airforce upon rejoining. On the second occasion, Vash would be ousted from the clan during a UN Council vote. A individual known as Panther 130210 would persuade S172 and a 6 -2 majority vote in the Council to remove Vash from the clan, on charges of high treason. He was removed from the UN without trial or a public execution. Vash wouldn't return to the clan until 6th Generation in 2013, when it was remade by xBlackRose FTWx and several other former-officers. In this iteration, he joined the UNAR under BANANA KING 312 and IIx 0MIN0US xII. Vash served as a Lieutenant in the UNAR, assisting in Ranger training and attending the Council on several occasions when his superiors were not available. Following the creation of Panther 13's new Spartan IV clan on Halo: 4, many of the UN's leadership and officers left the clan, including its leader, who appointed Vash as his successor. But saddled with a clan facing dwindling numbers and morale, Vash faced a challenging environment, and ultimately and understandably chose to dissolve the clan. This was a decision later regretted by many, though, and within a few months Vash was a part of talks to reignite the clan again.(edited)His latter promotions and appointment as leader, coupled with an opening for the position, meant Vash was best-placed to assume command of the UNAR in this new 7th Generation. Vash built up the UNAR and nurtured the ethos of the branch, transmitting the essence of Ranger culture to fresh recruits. His leadership continued much the same into the 8th Generation, where his influence grew even further. In 2019, Vash obtained permission from iSlayer to revive the UN on Halo: MCC, embarking on a leadership journey that would span over a year. Leading the clan through conflicts, political strife, and even a rebellion, Vash's leadership facilitated the most successful chapter of the UN since its 4th Generation. Under his leadership, the UN assumed an active role in Community politics, a strong media presence, and the most highly-skilled iteration of the UNAR ever seen. His exemplary service as the UN's President during the 9th Generation has solidified his enduring legacy within the annals of UN history.
UN Overlord
UN Overlord’s name has become synonymous with the United Nations' internal security branch, the National Guard. Acting as the first and most infamous leader of the UNNG, Overlord lead the UNNG for the majority of the first generation of the UN before leaving to join the Crossed Legions. His tendency to conscript large amounts of members from other branches within the UN into UNNG service often earned him the ire of his fellow officers. Despite the political backlash of Overlord’s mass conscription order, the UNNG grew into a very powerful organization responsible for maintaining order within the clan and sniffing out any potential traitors or spies attempting to infiltrate the clan. Many plots were ended before they started due to the UNNG’s vigilance under Overlord. Unfortunately, such vast power brought Overlord and his UNNG cohorts into conflict with the UN Rangers, who at the time, were known for being more free-spirited and thus often a breeding ground for rebellions. This divide between the guard and rangers would exist for many years until the fourth generation where the UNNG lost a large amount of its powers and privileges in the face of a more progressive UN and the rise of the rangers to the highest echelons of the clan.
OMEGA ELITE 357
A longstanding member of the United Nations National Guard branch throughout all generations since the third generation, OMEGA ELITE 357 has stood as a prime example of faithful service to the United Nations. Omega fervently pursued his duties in the National Guard without expectation of reward or praise, but only the hope that justice was served to those who flouted the laws of the UN. Given the nature of the UNNG in earlier generations often involving the harboring or protection of corrupt officials, Omega faced many challenges from his superiors when implementing worthy reforms and advancing through the ranking system. He first gained leadership of the UNNG during the later third generation and continued to hold this role during large portions of the fourth and fifth generations with him finally retiring from the UN on August 17, 2020. Omega was well-known for his piety and would often be seen as the unofficial Chaplain of the UN. Many members would come to him seeking wisdom on various spiritual and personal matters which Omega would provide without any reservations.
animeman117
Known for his extensive time spent in the United Nations Air Force (Which was later converted to the modern-day United Nations Naval Command), animeman117 was often a figure in the background who had significant impact on the United Nations for the few times he did decide to step into the forefront of larger clan affairs. His first public appearance was as a character based off of himself in a short comedic video produced by General JB172 for the United Nations News on August 25, 2011. This video which was named “Extremists Galore”, was a parody of how the UN viewed its enemies and other detractors as “terrorists” due to groups containing such individuals being smaller in size compared to the UN and reliant on traditional guerilla tactics to do any noticeable damage to the UN’s influence. In “Extremists Galore”, Animeman played the role of an unsuspecting UN member whose naivety was taken advantage of by the allure of meeting individuals blacklisted by the UN as “terrorists.” Later on, as Animeman became a more influential officer of the UNAF in the second and third generations, he eventually became leader of the preexisting Advanced Airborne Infantry Force. The AAIF was a sub-branch of the UNAF tasked with training highly skilled paratrooper units who bolstered the more vehicle-focused Air Force with a traditional ground complement. Animeman would later reprise his Air Force role in the fourth generation when he took command of the UNAF’s successor, the UNNC. The final appearance of Animeman was in Operation Jester (a fourth-generation plan to purge UNNG corruption) where he temporarily resigned his command of the UNNC and became a double agent working for the UN President at the time named Sgt Dornan. Animeman posed as the leader of a newly christened “Royal Guard” branch where all UNNG officials suspected of corruption were recruited into. When all the traitors were tricked by Animeman into joining an official UN meeting with the intent to assassinate President Dornan, he directed their attack towards the vicinity of a “kill barrier” so that the President would be unharmed and the true colors of these malcontents would be revealed for all the UN to see. The exemplary espionage work performed by Animeman in this matter ensured the UNNG would be free of corruption for generations to come.
Sherlock B221 and Rookie S284
These two brothers were excellent drill instructors (and NCO’s) up to and including their final tour of service in the fourth generation of the United Nations. Both were respected and well-liked by the men under them which allowed Sherlock and Rookie to act as an essential bridge between the enlisted members of the UN and its higher leadership. During the fourth generation, they were large contributors of the United Nations Army’s NCO core. Prior to fourth generation however, Sherlock and Rookie would often separate themselves into different branches with Sherlock being an NCO in the UNNC and Rookie being an NCO in the UNA. In the early days of the UNNC, Sherlock was responsible for constructing some of the Navy’s first ships which still stand today as monuments to times long past.
spitting snail
Snail began his time in the United Nations’ second generation as a member of the United Nations National Guard and remained as a prominent member of this branch until the end of the third generation. At the onset of the UN’s fourth generation, Snail was appointed to the role of Vice President where he acted as an essential assistant to President Doc Valdez by maintaining a relatively uncharacteristic peace between the branches, especially the UNNG and UNAR who were known for being at odds with each other for years. This success could be attributed to his prior experience in the National Guard and his later closeness with several high-ranking Ranger personnel. Due to his long tenure in the UN as well as his higher interest in combat-related roles, Snail has participated in some of the most significant battles of the early UN. Specifically, Snail partook in two of the defining conflicts of the UN’s second generation. When the United Colonies of Reach led by WTF Grif launched an all-out assault on Firebase Charlie in the earlier part of the second generation (later known as the “Battle of Firebase Charlie”), Snail acted as one of the base’s stalwart defenders who held back the UCR’s endless hordes. Near the end of the second generation, Snail also took part in the UN-Unicom conflict where he stood by the UN even as its war effort worsened and the desperate measures taken in the famous “Unicom Tank Battle” brought a deadly blow to the UN’s stature and stability. Snail's efforts during the second and third generations earned him influence among many former officers. Alongside xBlackRose FTWx, he played a pivotal role in founding the 6th Generation, serving as Vice President before choosing to depart alongside BlackRose after approximately one month. In an unexpected turn, he then became an antagonist to the UN. Pulling the strings of several loyal National Guardsmen, he orchestrated the unsuccessful assassination attempt on Sgt Dornan, the new President. This attempt ultimately failed as a result of sabotage from within, in what was dubbed Operation Jester. But Snail did not conclude his UN journey on a negative note. Under the leadership of iSlayer in the 8th Generation, he made a triumphant return as Vice President. He served as a trusted second-in-command for the entirety of this Generation, his dedicated service only coming to an end with its conclusion.
N0W 0R N3V3R
N0W 0R N3V3R (hereafter referred to as NowOrNever), was a veteran of the United Nations' second and third generations where he served as leader of the United Nations Naval Command branch for a long period. As one of the first leaders of the UNNC following General JB172's rise to power in the UN's second generation, NowOrNever was a pioneer of naval combat who masterminded some of the tactics and principles still in use by the Navy today. NowOrNever also distinguished himself in a clan called RoH where he became the leader of its Air Force and later its Navy. Former third and fourth generation leader of the United Nations Army Rangers branch and former leader of the RoH, BananaKing312, had the following things to say when questioned about NowOrNever: "He was the one who first brought Pwnlegend54 into the RoH. He was a stellar leader and a talented forger. A huge nerd and a good friend."
BANANA KING 312
BananaKing312 first rose to prominence in the first generation of the United Nations when he was appointed as the leader of the United Nations Army Rangers following the departure of its previous leader, Panther13. He returned to this role during the UN's third generation and at the beginning of the UN’s fourth generation. Banana was the first Ranger leader to rethink the role of the branch in relation to the UN. Beforehand, the UNAR had acted as the UN’s special operations force with a focus on the general skill level of its players from a purely combative perspective. However, the Rangers were also known for their advanced knowledge of the various mountains scattered throughout Forge World as well as the numerous ways to climb them in order to circumvent the traditional base defenses that were prevalent at the time. The well-known “Ranger Mountain” was actually named after the UNAR when the method to ascend it was discovered by a group of exploring Rangers. Banana sought to capitalize on this advantage which the UNAR provided in raids by expanding the Rangers’ training curriculum to include further parkour-related challenges. Therefore, prospective Ranger cadets would become more efficient in mountain climbing and more apt to discover and attempt climbing previously unknown paths. The creation of the famous “Gauntlet” by IIx OMiN0US xII (used for the third day of Ranger training in the UN’s third generation) was a major part of these training reforms. Banana also planned for the UNAR to take on some of the responsibilities of the United Nations Central Intelligence (an intelligence branch previously known as the United Nations Intelligence Agency in the first generation) due to it ending operations and leaving the UN without protection from covert, external elements for some time. The UNAR would now handle the recruitment and training of spies as well as the implementation of counterintelligence operations against hostile elements both inside and outside the UN. Consequently, the UNAR was transformed into a covert operations branch while still holding onto its more skill-based roots. This change would be a key factor in the UNAR’s later rise in the fourth generation as the most prominent branch through its many members who later became the ruling class of the fourth and fifth generations. Banana’s departure from the UN was marked by the stepping down of Doc Valdez as President of the UN’s fourth generation.
Commando Bane (formerly PrefectMacro)
Commando Bane, also known as Macro during his earlier days, is recognized as one of the most infamous and polarizing leaders the United Nations National Guard has ever seen. Bane embarked on his UN journey during the 4th Generation, operating under the moniker CRAZY COMMUNIST. Serving as a Private within the UN Armored Corps, he played a pivotal role in several of the Clan's final battles, receiving a special mention in the UN's Military History for racking up 704 kills against the Special Operations Group. Bane served the UN until around its initial closure in late 2012. But this was far from the end of his UN story. Along with many others, Bane rejoined the Clan at the start of its 6th Generation, this time donning the blue and white of the National Guard, marking a new chapter in his career. Serving as the Guard’s second-in-command, Bane exercised his authority often. Known for frequently taking matters into his own hands and overstepping the authority of his Commanding Officer, he established a ruthless reputation. His "UNNG-first" mentality often put him at odds with his peers, leading to a decline in his popularity, culminating with his expulsion for treason following Operation Jester. However, this did not mark the end of Bane's UN journey, for he later returned during the 8th Generation. Appointed by iSlayer and spitting snail for his experience and ruthlessly pragmatic approach to leadership, Bane quickly rose through the upper echelons of the UN’s hierarchy. His stern, unyielding, and brutal approach to leading the Guard made him a figure both feared and revered. His leadership methodology often drew the ire of his fellow officers, but also their begrudging respect. Despite his past missteps, he remained a loyal and honorable servant of the UN's 8th Generation until its closure in late 2013. Much, much later in 2021, Bane would return once again. Called into action by his friend and former leader, Doc Valdez, Bane rejoined the Clan and was appointed to the new role of Parliamentarian; his job, to serve as constitutional advisor and adjudicator. With him, he brought his coterie of Commandos, affording him further influence. However, his time was brief. Tired of serving a clan besieged by political infighting, he resigned his role before the ship went down. His repeated contributions to the UN and his renown as one of the greatest UNNG leaders have cemented his legacy in UN history.
